Ammonia storage flare location 
Currently our ammonia storage tank does not have a flare and we are venting whenever the pressure control valve opens. We are contemplating installing a flare on the tank top or on the sides. But we are worried about the pressure drop if we take the flare far away. It is a conventional atmospheric tank with 1 psi design. Can you share with us your flare system and how it is installed? Can you also share any other issues you foresee?

I don't see any issues with a flare for NH3 tank which was quite common in modern day NH3 plants. Any flare vendor should be able to design it to meet NH3 tank requirements and most of the tanks operate under 1 psig.
