Hotel 'The Ashok', New Delhi (India)The Indian fertilizer industry has been brought in the ambit of reform process with implementation of Nutrient Based Subsidy policy on Phosphatic and Potassic Fertilisers w.e.f. 1st April, 2010. The experience of implementation of the policy in the first year is satisfying in terms of availability of fertilisers, farmers prices remaining at reasonable level and fiscal management of the subsidy bill. The industry is looking forward for decanalisation of import of urea and implementation of the NBS policy on urea.
